The South East and Tablelands region is predicted to grow by an additional 65,000 people by 2041. That growth will change the region’s communities, and the transport network will need to evolve to meet the expectations and needs of future transport customers.
The Draft South East and Tablelands Regional Transport Plan (“the Draft Plan”) provides a vision for how the region’s transport network, infrastructure and services will be structured over time to keep people and the economy moving safely, efficiently and sustainably.
In 2018, the NSW Government released Future Transport Strategy: a long-term plan for transport in NSW. This Draft Plan outlines what that will mean for the South East and Tablelands over the next 20 years.
The development of the Draft Plan has been guided by formal engagement and workshops with stakeholders from all 9 councils across the South East and Tablelands, as well as key state agencies and regional stakeholders.
If you live, work, visit or conduct business within the Local Government Areas of Wingecarribee, Goulburn-Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Hilltops, Yass Valley, Queanbeyan Palerang, Snowy Monaro, Eurobodalla, or Bega Valley, we want to hear from you about the future of transport in your region.
From Friday 16 December 2022 consultation will be open for the Draft South East and Tablelands Regional Transport Plan. Feedback will be open until Friday 24 February 2023. The Final Plan is expected to be released in 2023.
Your feedback is important to us and will help Transport understand what is important to customers and the community.

The Draft Plan presents a transport vision for the South East and Tablelands and responds to the land use vision outlined in the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) Draft South East and Tablelands Regional Plan 2041 . The Plan identifies the key infrastructure, services and policy interventions which will be needed to achieve the vision at a local level.
