About Future Transport Technology
Have your say on the Future Transport Technology Roadmap before 31 January 2017. The Technology Roadmap and accompanying implementation plan will be finalised in 2017.
Input from industry, stakeholders and thought leaders who attended the 2016 Future Transport Technology Summit has been distilled into the Future Transport Technology Roadmap, launched in November 2016 by the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Andrew Constance.
The Roadmap plans to put NSW at the forefront of adopting new and emerging technologies to transform transport services, better connect communities and enhance the customer experience. Future Transport Technology will transform NSW as we identify how to bring technology into the centre of what we do, to drive efficiency in transport services and improve our customers’ experiences.
The second plank of the Future Transport Strategy – Future Transport Planning – has been launched to seek input into the review of the Long Term Transport Master Plan. Go to Future Transport Planning to find out more.
Engaging with industry
The 2016 Future Transport Summit kicked off an extensive engagement program. Alongside development of the Roadmap, Transport for NSW engaged with industry, entrepreneurs, young people and our internal teams in new ways:
Our innovation challenges are targeted opportunities for entrepreneurs and industry to work with us to solve specific customer-related challenges, linked closely with our open data platform.
The Future Transport Pitch fests give organisations and individuals access to senior Transport decision makers for constructive, targeted feedback on their products, ideas and solutions before entering formal procurement processes.
The Intrapreneurs’ Innovation program kicked off with a hugely-successful Intrapreneurs’ Hothouse in June 2016. A micro-funded internal incubation program is taking some of these great ideas to rapid prototype and deployment.
The Youth Summit brought together students from across the state to look at their transport needs now and into the future.
